In Africa, the Sjambok is a very versatile utensil. It is used as a cattle whip, herd driver, but also as a very effective self-defense weapon (both for humans and poisonous snakes).
Unlike the whip we know here in the west, the Shambok is semi-rigid and rather beaten like a stick. The weight, speed and flexibility of the shambok's stroke do all the work. Also, little training is required to use the Sjambok practically.
The Cold Steel Sjambok is made of polymer and is equipped with a comfortabl Kray-Ex handle. This is designed to resemble braided leather. The Sjambok is very durable and insensitive to weather conditions.
